Kuala Lumpur, 4 August 2004 – In conjunction with the recent Insurance Day which was held on the 27th July 2004, Malaysian National Reinsurance Berhad (Malaysian Re) in collaboration with the Heart Foundation of Malaysia, has organized a ‘Heart Health Awareness Campaign’ with the objective of educating the employees on all aspects of heart disease. The campaign consists of Health Screening and Health Talk programme.
Encik Anuar Mohd Hassan, Chief Executive Officer / Managing Director of Malaysian Re said,” Some of us easily forget about the state of our health due to the busy schedules and long working hours. By bringing the facilities to our doorstep, it reminds us of the importance of regular check-ups to ensure a good heart health.” The employees were given Blood Pressure Test, Body Mass Index, Blood Test for Glucose and Cholesterol Level and Health Counseling.
The Heart Foundation of Malaysia is in process of building a larger premise in order to offer additional and improved facilities and services for Malaysian. In response to the need, Malaysian Re had also contributed RM 5,000.00 during the event. The mock cheque were presented by Encik Anuar Mohd Hassan to Yang Berbahagia Datin Margaret Sambhi, member of the Yayasan’s Board of Directors and Founder member of the Heart Foundation of Malaysia.
As a caring corporate citizen, Malaysian Re has been actively involved in community relations project. Malaysian Re had donated RM 200,000.00 for MAKNA Telekanser 2003 and 2002 project. Malaysian Re also brings cheers to the less fortunate children, orphans and the old folks during festive seasons. Last but not least, Malaysian Re has also donated computers to several deserving associations and schools in the Klang Valley. Malaysian Re believes these kinds of activities will further foster the family spirit and cooperation amongst the employees and management of Malaysian Re.
