Kuala Lumpur, 18 March 2010 – MNRB Group continues its noble cause in maintaining the health and welfare of its employees with the help from the Heart Foundation of Malaysia. Held in conjunction with the MNRB’s “Healthy Heart Awareness Campaign”, the 3-day health screening was held from 16 till 18 March 2010 at Bangunan Malaysian Re, Kuala Lumpur.
The campaign, which comprises a FREE Health Screening package and Health Talk, received an overwhelming response from the employees within the MNRB Group. The Health Screening was carry out to not only create awareness amongst the employees on heart related matters but also to alert them on the possible risk factors and the necessary steps in ensuring better health. In addition, Yang Berbahagia Datin Dr. Liew Yin Min, a Medical Director of the Heart Foundation of Malaysia was invited to give a talk on “Workplace Wellness”. As stated in the Foundation’s website, every hour of every day a heart attack kills another Malaysian. Hence, the talk emphasized on the importance of taking workplace health to the forefront with aims to promote worker health by correcting risk related habits, which is the main contributing factor to cardiovascular diseases.
The event also saw MNRB contributed RM10,000 to the foundation. Encik Sharkawi Alis, Chairman of MNRB Group and Encik Anuar Mohd Hassan, President & Group Chief Executive Officer of MNRB presented the cheque to Yang Berbahagia Datin Dr Liew Yin Min during the Cheque presentation ceremony held on 18 March 2010.
This joint-collaboration is part of the continuous initiatives between MNRB and the Heart Foundation of Malaysia to encourage robust way of life and also ways to prevent heart diseases amongst the employees within the MNRB Group. In line with the company''s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, MNRB''s participation towards this event has helped to create awareness on the importance of taking care of oneself.
