Voluntary Cessions (VC) to Malaysian Reinsurance Berhad The Board of Directors of MNRB Holdings Berhad (MNRB) is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Malaysian Reinsurance Berhad, had, on December 30, 2009, received the confirmation from Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) that the Voluntary Cessions (VC) levels from January 1, 2010 shall be the same as that of the current VC levels, as follows:- a) VC on Motor, Personal Accident (including Hospital & Surgical) classes shall remain at 4% quota share without any cessions limit. For all the other classes of business, VC shall remain at 5% quota share without any cessions limit; and b) The current level of cessions under both the Auto-Facultative and Auto-Treaty businesses shall remain unchanged at 15%. Similary, the current level of retrocessions for both these businesses shall remain unchanged at 20%. BNM had also confirmed that the VC levels from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2012 shall be as follows:- a) VC on Motor, Personal Accident (including Hospital & Surgical) classes will be revised to 2.5% quota share without any cessions limit. For all the other classes of business, VC will remain at 5% quota share without any cessions limit; and b) For both the Auto-Facultative and Auto-Treaty businesses, no change in the current level of cessions and retrocessions at 15% and 20% respectively.
